AT&SF Pin Stripe scheme

A very classy dress for Santa Fe’s freight diesels was the nicknamed Pin Stripe scheme,  dark blue, yellow and black. Some locos had silver trucks, which made the appearance even more attractive. Below are a few examples, mostly EMD engines.

AT&SF „Pin Stripe“ scheme

Allright!…..some call it „pin stripe“……some call it „book end“……actually it doesn’t matter as long as we know what this guy is talkin‘ about…..

Anyway during the late 50s until the 70s a solid blue paint scheme with yellow ends and a sharp yellow stripe around the hood and cab came up, also displaying a huge billboard style „Santa Fe“ ……
